Build an Altar

In the old Testament Wherever God’s people met God they built an altar. A mark to note a God encounter. When God reveals Himself to us through His Son,  our spirit is quickened and our heart becomes an altar. So begins a personal love story a relationship denoting new life commencing in a moment lasting for eternity. The Israelites built their altars with a pile of stones. In our encounter God changes our heart of stone into a place sensitive to Him. Gen. 12:7 from Devotional A Trysting Place

Dress Rehearsal

Our whole lives are preparation for ‘such a time as this.’ The forming of character, the developing of personality, the building of skills and abilities, the accumulation of learning, the choices we make, the circumstances He allows, everything converging into that moment when He says, ‘Well, the preparation time is over, will you come?’ Forget ‘first night nerves’.
