A New Year is about to begin. It is a turning point. Rather like turning to a new page. Like the first page of a new exercise book for the scholar, the blank canvas for the artist. Putting our mark on the parchment of our lives for others to see. Being marked by many, making  value judgements, not least of all ourselves. Advent  speaks of the coming or arrival of something extremely important. For Christians down the ages it marks a period of preparation before Christmas. It commemorates the first coming of Christ, and anticipates His second coming. There has always been a remnant who eagerly await His return. The bible is a book of revelation from beginning to end: a treasure trove revealing the hidden truths of God’s plan, purpose and promises. These gems are hidden FOR you not FROM you! Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until He reveals His plans to His servants, the prophets. Amos 3:7 What’s more, nothing is kept secret from Him.
